Here at Veterinary Vision in Lancashire, we have further boosted our surgical expertise with the appointment of an internationally renowned ophthalmology specialist - Laurence Occelli, an American Board Diplomate in Veterinary Ophthalmology.

Laurence, who has authored multiple articles, has extensive experience working within universities and private practice in Europe, Canada and the United States.

Among Laurence’s qualifications are a Certificate in Veterinary Anaesthesia, a Certificat d’Etudes Supérieures d’Ophthalmologie Vétérinaire, a Diplôme Universitaire de Microchirurgie Ophthalmologique and a PhD with Pr. Simon Petersen-Jones at Michigan State University.

Laurence’s clinical and research interests include inherited retinal degeneration, gene therapy, retinal imaging and retinal surgery.

“I’y looking forward to joining the expert team at Veterinary Vision and working within a busy, dedicated ophthalmology referral hospital in the UK,” said Laurence.

Other highlights in Laurence’s career include being a senior research scientist. Within her new role at Veterinary Vision, Laurence will still serve as an adjunct faculty for Michigan State University.
